The Immanuel-Midland Nursing Alumni Association Executive Board met in person following the annual spring alumni celebration on April 15, 2023.

Lois Linden, Chairman of the 100th Anniversary Celebration Committee gave an update on the progress of planning the celebration. Keep tuned in for updates and place the date of April 12, 2025, at the Midland University Wikert Event Center on your calendar.

Board officers were elected:  President, Joan Wellensiek; Vice-President: Carol Bohling;  Secretary/Treasurer: Jan Ostransky

Representatives of the Executive Board were present at the Commitment Ceremony for sophomore nursing students on March 24, 2023. A “God Grant Me Serenity” prayer journal was given to each student.  

Representatives of the Executive Board attended the public meeting during the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) visit. The Board shared ways in which the Alumni Association plays an active role in supporting the nursing faculty and students in the MU School of Nursing.  

A $550.00 scholarship for the 2023-2024 academic year was awarded to six nursing students. 

The Alumni Association has purchased and donated a Gaumard Manikin which has arrived and become an important part of MU’s Health Sciences Simulation Lab.

On behalf of the association, $5,000.00 will be donated to the Health Science Building Campaign for naming rights for Immanuel-Midland Nursing Alumni Association.  

Representatives of the Executive Board will be present at the pinning ceremony for the 2023 class of nursing graduates in May.
