I graduated in 1976 with a degree in Business Administration.

SuhrWhat are you doing now and where?
I'm living the dream!! I retired in January 2009, and now live in Omaha.

How did your experience at Midland prepare you for your career?
I learned:
- how to better interact with people and to treat everyone with respect.
- how hard work pays off in the end.
- how to be a good teammate.

Did a particular faculty member leave a lasting impression on you?
I can't specifically pinpoint a specific professor; however, the professors in the business department were instrumental in shaping my understanding of the fundamentals of business principles and operations. Many of the coaches in the athletic department assisted me to build on the hard work and teamwork principles.

What is your fondest memory of Midland?
Meeting and getting to know people from many different backgrounds and forming lasting friendships.

How do you spend your leisure time? Any hobbies?
That's all I have is leisure time. My favorite activities are helping my cousin on his farm (the farm our great-grandparents and grandparents lived) northwest of Fremont, playing golf and attending numerous Midland events.

List any family information you would like to include.
Midland's been an important institution with my family. My father (Marvin) graduated in 1944, my oldest brother Paul and his wife Donna (Jedlicka) graduated in 1968. Many other relatives have graduated and another is a current student (Xandy Krueger).

How do you stay connected to Midland?
My wife, Mary, and I attend many of the athletic events and also, many of the plays and musicals. I also try to get to as many of the alumni gatherings as well.

Fun fact about you:
Through my life as a preacher's kid, being in the Army 4+ years and working as a Department of Army Civilian 28+ more years, I've moved 26 times so far, to include a 3-year period when we lived in Germany.
